Minutes
of the meeting May 16,
2005

- Following handouts were distributed by Al Huber :

- Agenda for current meeting
- Note: Minutes for May 2005 meeting are
being prepared by John Sanchez on July 21, 2005
as I took the minutes for George Arackaparambil
who was not present - I did not assemble them
for presentation and acceptance at the June 2005
meeting. Per council recommendation from July
20005 meeting I now make those minutes available
for review and acceptance into the record.
- There was a correction noted for the
April 18, 2005 meeting with regard to the PPC
September retreat/meeting. The September 18,
2005 ½ day retreat will replace the regular
September meeting.
- Meeting began with Opening Prayer by Kevin
Lucia
- Updates on various committees were provided
as below: -
- Finance (update
from Gail) - Annual appeal is
at 50%; Will begin to spread out credit card
donations over weekly collection as opposed to
once a month. We are averaging $600.00 / mo.
- Buildings &
Grounds (update from Al) -
Paul obtained, via Arch Diocese, three or four
painting contractors to get bids from to paint
the church exterior. The toilet was replaced in
the handicapped bathroom, plumber stated that it
was a pressure problem. Paul cleaned the
drinking fountain. There was a 911 hang-up on
05/15/05 after the 1030 mass from the public
phone.
- Catholic Formation
(update from Kevin) - Video
series on the mass and the book of Revelation
begins. Thursday night Eucharistic adoration
continues to do well. Paul talked to Mike
McDevitt, Mike has a video from a recent LA
retreat he did. There will be a core team
meeting on 06/16/05 regarding up coming fall
retreat.
- Parish
Life - Parish Picnic is slated
for Sept 8th at 5:30pm. Gail will call to
reserve park
- Public Affairs and
Social Justice - We have not
gotten the water list in a while from Foster
City. 211 cards will filled out for AB
Legislation regarding assisted suicide bill.
Next walk for life is 01/21/06. We will be
putting a picture from this years walk in the
new parish directory, marchers were carrying the
"St. Luke Church" banner

Business
- Parish Directory will cover 2 days or
nights 1500 - 2200 hours (08/3, 4, 5+6/05)
Wednesday through Friday 0930 - 1600 and
Saturday 1430 - 2100. (09/09, 10/05) Friday 1430
- 2100 and Saturday 0900 - 1600.
- May 31, 2005 @ 1030 meeting with the
church and coordinators - there will be
announcements made from the ambo beginning in
June. Also discussed was having a single point
of contact for Busson with the church (Paul
Lucia - said he would do that). Paul Six will
take photos of PPC meeting next time for
inclusion in the directory.
